As Director of Strategic Partnerships at Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson, Sara Hall is coordinating a powerful lineup of events for Lights On Afterschool 2025 that will bring community care directly to students. Shout out to all the site leads and volunteers helping with the execution.
In partnership with LA County Department of Mental Health, ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc., and Kedren Health, we will be hosting mental health presentations across local high schools on topics including healthy relationships, anger management, and suicide prevention. These sessions are part of a broader effort to affirm students’ voices, support their emotional well-being, and ensure they feel seen and celebrated during this national day of advocacy for afterschool programs.
Sara is also working with LAPD and the Carson Fire Department to organize meaningful site visits that will connect elementary and middle school students to trusted local leaders, reinforcing safety, confidence, and the importance of civic engagement.
Lastly, a student-centered Resource Fair is being planned to bring local organizations on campus to share tools, knowledge, and fun activities that reflect their core mission and empower youth through learning and engagement.
Partners: Masada Services (Counselors), My Soccer Time, Carson Library, Street Racing Kills, School On Wheels
