Boys & Girls Club of Carson<\/a> is pleased to announce its new partnership with LAUSD’s Communities of Schools in Carson and Gardena to provide programs at 18 new school locations. Now offering services at 28 sites, the Club is supporting students during the school day by providing opportunities for safe and civil play and further exploration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). In addition, students are being exposed to college and careers afterschool where BGCC staff help students prepare for academic success.<\/p>\n

At 17 of the BGCC\u2019s Carson and Gardena expansion schools, 6,500 elementary students are staying\u00a0active and building valuable life skills such as conflict resolution and leadership through the Club\u2019s daily\u00a0Playworks<\/a>\u00a0recess-time program.\u00a0The Club provides its high-quality, outcome-driven College Bound program at 11 schools, designed to keep students in grades 4 \u2013 8 on the path towards their college and career goals and provide parents with the knowledge to support their student\u2019s success. Further supporting students\u2019 academic success, the BGCC provides weekly STEM workshops and a two-week robotics camp at 8 schools in Gardena filled with hands-on learning activities that encourage exploration, discovery, and curiosity. Our results-driven programs help bridge the gap between school and home while supporting youth in achieving positive outcomes.<\/p>\n
