On May 7th, we hosted a Mental Wellness Event led by Jasmine and Dr. Tinson from the H.A.V.E. Foundation. The event was designed to promote kindness, connection, and emotional well-being in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
Jasmine and Dr. Tinson introduced the purpose behind the Kindness Cups — to encourage students to spread kindness to others as a way to support both the recipient and the giver. Each student filled a cup with snacks, hand cream, pens, stickers, and positive affirmations, then chose someone in their life (a friend, teacher, or family member) to give it to. It was a thoughtful, creative way to remind students that small acts of kindness can have a big impact, especially when it comes to mental health.
Our members played a key role in making the event a success. They were in charge of setup and takedown and assisted Jasmine and Dr. Tinson with anything they needed throughout the event. The event was a meaningful, uplifting experience that blended fun, reflection, and purpose — and the students left with smiles, full hearts, and a renewed focus on spreading kindness.
