Academic Success
Many Club members start with us severely deficient in core educational disciplines. We provide supportive staff, educational stability and access to vital Academic Success Programs that help youth face their educational challenges.
TEENS ARE GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL
100% of teen members who participated in our College Bound program graduated high school compared to 84% of non-participants. 96% of Club teen members pursued post-secondary education.
GRADES ARE IMPROVING
Last year, the Club provided one-on-one academic case management to 758 youth who began the year with D or F grades in English and/or math. 80% of case-managed members demonstrated an improvement of at least one grade level over the school year.
MEMBERS ARE EXCELLING IN STEM
50% of Club senior girls are three times more likely to express an interest in a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career compared with 16% of senior girls nationally.
Academic Success Programs
Achievement in Middle School (AIM)
Provides activities to help prepare middle school kids for success in high school and assist them with the transition. Members participate in college trips, academic and career workshops, case management, and tutoring.
Marathon STEM Academy
13 modules exploring different facets of STEM via hands-on learning. The program culminates with a STEM Day competition.
Career Launch
Prepares teens for the world of careers and work. Through Career Launch, Club teens 13-18 years old embark on a journey to explore possible vocations, make sound educational decisions and find success in the world of work.
College Bound
College prep program that helps teens achieve academic and career goals through one-one-on case management, academic workshops, college field trips and, access to scholarship opportunities.
Project Learn
Boosts academic achievement and school engagement through fun educational activities.
Money Matters
Promotes financial responsibility and independence among teen members by building their basic money management skills.
My.Future
An innovative digital platform developed in partnership with Comcast. Each session of the online program focuses on a different aspect of digital literacy and ensures that children are ready to thrive in the digital era.
Power Hour
Daily one-hour program that provides homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities.
VEX IQ
Team-building robotics program where kids code, design, and operate their own robots.
Workforce Development
Addressing the demands of the 21st-century workforce through personalized, one-on-one case management for teens. Assisting with resume creation, job applications, interview preparation, and developing essential skills for sustained employment, including engaging in skill-based internships.
