About us
About Us
Our Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with after-school programs in Carson, Gardena and South Los Angeles serving nearly 5,000 elementary, middle and high school youth each day. We cultivate their ability to dream, discover and develop into lifelong learners.
Our Mission
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
We Achieve it by
Creating a safe, engaging, and equitable space for every child in the greater Los Angeles South Bay region – one of the Nation’s most diverse communities. We provide support and guidance to empower leaders of tomorrow through educational programming focused around good character and citizenship, healthy lifestyles, and academic and career success.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We believe every kid has what it takes. The mission and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs fuel our commitment to promoting safe, positive, and inclusive environments for all. Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson supports all youth and teens – of every race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability, religion, and socio-economic status in reaching their full potential.
Who We Serve
Despite 97% of our youth living in poverty, they are bright, determined and eager to learn! 54% of Club alumni report that Boys & Girls Clubs saved their life. How do we make Great Futures possible? Hear from our 2016 & 2017 Youth of the Year, Diane Dizon.
Leadership
Our Board of Directors, staff and volunteers continually ask: How we can improve our programs and reach more youth who need us most? Collectively, we have a deep-rooted commitment to making the playing field more equitable for all kids.
Board
Our Board of Directors is comprised of individuals who give generously of their time, talents and resources to ensure the Club meets the needs of at-risk youth year after year.
Partners
We are fortunate to partner with dedicated community, corporate and foundation partners who invest in our programs to help create the leaders of tomorrow.

Help Provide Essential Skills and Limitless Opportunities
Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson’s Board of Directors are elected for three-year renewable terms and commit to serving as vocal champions for at-risk youth in Carson and South Los Angeles. Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the Club’s future through sound and ethical legal governance, and financial management policies with adequate resources to advance our mission.
In addition to fiduciary duties, each Board member adopts one of our twenty-one club locations.
Through site adoptions, Board members serve as supportive and encouraging partners to frontline staff – whether that is field trip opportunities, volunteer fulfillment or sometimes simply dropping by to lend an extra hand.
